This is to inform the public that Mr.Rey Gambe (AWOL-effective February 24,2012), Ms. Maricar Soncayauon and Ms. Cherry Ann Oguez (both resigned effective January 16,2012) are no longer connected with United Filipino Seafarers (UFS) and its publication “Tinig ng Marino.”
The United Filipino Seafarers is asking the public to notify its office regarding any transaction/s made with these three entities for and in behalf of the UFS.
On the day of the UFS Board Meeting (February 23,2012), UFS and various people in the maritime industry received a text message informing everyone that Rey Gambe was involved in a vehicular accident somewhere in Libertad, Pasay City and was in serious condition.
This was disproved however immediately because UFS responded to the text by seeking assistance from the police, searching hospitals and asking vendors and bystanders around the area. UFS also sent two volunteer staff to the residence of Mr. Rey Gambe to ask his wife regarding his condition but his wife informed the cadets that her husband just called her about an hour ago and he is in good condition and staying in a house somewhere in Manila.
The UFS tried to contact Mr. Rey Gambe in all his cellphone numbers but to no avail.
Rey Gambe himself admitted later to faking the said accident in a very long e-mail, addressed to the Board Of Directors of the United Filipino Seafarers.
Rey Gambe was again absent during the UFS emergency board meeting last February 27, 2012. The UFS board wanted him to shed light as to why he is no longer reporting to the UFS and why he is on the run.
Any update regarding these three shall be posted here in our website.
